Learning Loft Consulting and Advising, LLC is an independent marketplace platform connecting students, adults, and career explorers with experienced higher education professionals who provide personalized, one-on-one guidance outside of institutional constraints. We are currently building our foundational network of Independent Educational and Career Consultants and are looking for passionate, experienced professionals who are ready to leverage their expertise, build their own client base, and make a real impact in the lives of the people they serve.

About the Opportunity

As an Independent Educational and Career Consultant with Learning Loft, you will have the freedom to build your own practice on your own terms. You set your own schedule, your own rates, and bring your own unique approach to every client interaction. Learning Loft provides the platform, drives clients to you, and handles the administrative infrastructure — so you can focus on what you do best.

This is not a traditional job. This is an opportunity to build something of your own while doing work that matters.

What You Will Do

• Provide personalized 45-minute career and education advising sessions to clients via phone or virtual appointment
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date profile on the Learning Loft platform
• Set your own session pricing at or above the platform baseline
• Accept or decline ongoing monthly support clients based on your availability and expertise
• Submit accurate documentation and invoices for ongoing support services at month-end
• Uphold Learning Loft's baseline standards of professionalism, integrity, and client-centered practice

Who We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in higher education, academic advising, career counseling, financial aid, admissions, or a related field
• A genuine passion for helping students and career explorers succeed
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with diverse clients
• Professionalism, reliability, and integrity in all client interactions
• A desire to build an independent practice and create sustainable supplemental or primary income
• Experience working with justice-impacted individuals is a plus — we have a dedicated division serving this population

Compensation Details

• Base session rate: $30 per 45-minute session (you set your own rate at or above this)
• Foundational consultant revenue share: 60% to you, 40% to Learning Loft
• Ongoing monthly support plans available for additional income
• All consultants are engaged as independent contractors (1099) and are responsible for their own taxes
