I've spent the past decade in higher education enrollment management and operations, working with students from application to cap (graduation). I also started at community college and transferred, so I know the road from the inside. Whether you're a first-time freshman, a transfer student, coming back to school after years away, applying from abroad, or looking at graduate programs, I've been there with students like you and I know where it gets hard.
I've spent the past decade in higher education enrollment management and operations. In that time I've worked with students from app to cap: traditional first-time freshmen, transfer students, international applicants, adult undergraduates and post-traditional learners, and graduate students. Different starting points, same underlying question. What am I actually trying to build here, and what's the smartest way to get there?
I've also lived it. I started at Warren County Community College, transferred to DeSales University, and later earned my MBA at Cedar Crest College. So when I talk about transfer credits, or starting somewhere that isn't a four-year school, or going back for a degree later than you planned, that isn't theory to me.
That's part of why I don't stop at admissions. I've also provided academic advising support, which means I'm not just helping you get accepted somewhere. I'm helping you figure out whether that program actually leads to the career you want. A lot of students pick a school first and a path second, and end up two years in wondering why nothing lines up. I'd rather we get that right at the front.
Because I've worked on the operations side, I know how the machine runs. What financial aid is waiting on. Why your transfer credits are stuck. Which deadlines are real and which ones have flex. What an admissions committee is weighing when your file crosses their desk. That's the kind of thing that's almost impossible to find out from the outside, and it's usually the difference between a smooth process and a stalled one.
Come to me with a half-formed idea or a deadline next week. Either one works. We'll figure out what you're really after and build the plan from there.
